Discounted pricing through in-network providers helps you make the most of your hard-earned money.

You benefit from the discounted rates negotiated by the Medical Plan third-party administrator — both before and after you've reached your deductible.

For example, let's say you need to go to a doctor because you have flu symptoms.

1. If you haven't met your deductible, here's how in-network discounts may save you money for your office visit:

  In-Network Doctor Out-of-Network Doctor
Doctor's standard office visit fee $130 $130
In-network discount $60 n/a
Doctor's billable fee $70 $130

Your in-network doctor would only bill you for the discounted fee of $70 — a $60 cost savings over the out-of-network doctor's fee of $130.

2. If you have met your deductible, here's how much you'll pay:

  In-Network Doctor Out-of-Network Doctor
Doctor's billable fee (from above): $70 $130
Plan pays -$56 (80% coinsurance) -$78 (60% coinsurance)
You pay $14 (20% coinsurance) $52 (40% coinsurance)

By going in-network, once you’ve reached your deductible, you only pay $14 for the visit, versus $52 if you go out-of-network — a $38 savings.

Cost Saving Tip: If you go to the Allstate Good Life Wellness Center in Northbrook, IL  or Irving, TX or a Premier In-Network Provider, your costs could be even lower.
