There’s no bigger fan of the Allstate Medical Plan’s access to telehealth services than Lori Mettinger, a Sales Specialist in Allstate’s Pocatello, Idaho office. This service is available to those enrolled in the Allstate Medical Plan options (excluding Blue Advantage and Kaiser Hawaii), telehealth doctors can treat many medical conditions via video or over the phone from wherever you are for less than $45.

When she initially registered for the telehealth service, Lori downloaded the app to her phone. "I'm not a techie person at all, but I found the app very easy to use," said Lori. "After answering a few questions about why she was needed to see a doctor, the app told her to wait a minute while it found a doctor her area. "Before I knew it," Lori said, "the doctor's face popped up on my phone screen and started talking to me."

The doctor was located in her home town of Pocatello. "He was very personable," said Lori, "He listened well, was easy to understand, and answered all my questions." After assessing the situation, the doctor prescribed a medication and sent it directly to Lori's pharmacy. Much to her relief, the medication quickly cleared up the problem.

"I think it's an amazing benefit," said Lori, "To see a doctor without needing to go to their office or take time off work. It's so much quicker and cost-effective."
